What is working
families tax credit (wftc)?
It is a means-tested payment for working people on a low income
who have children. You apply to the tax credit office of the Inland
Revenue for (wftc) at Preston, Telephone Number 0845 6095000 and
your employer usually pays it in your wages.
Each award normally lasts for 26 weeks, depending on the level
wftc it may entitle you to some other benefits such as free prescriptions,
dental treatment, fares to Hospital and free glasses.
There are 3 key qualifying
conditions for wftc:
1. You or your partner must be responsible for a child or children
who live with you.
2. You or your partner must not have savings of more then £8000.
3. You or your partner must be working for 16hrs or more a week.
How to claim:
At a Post Office or phone the tax credit help line on 0845 6095000
and get a claim pack, Payment is usually for 26 weeks and can
be paid either through your employer or by a order book where
you can cash the slips at a Post Office.
